My World: “Purposely Mistaken”

February 25th, 2014 22 Comments

suitcaseIt’s week 103 of the Trifextra Challenge.  I have to admit that this one stumped me for some time.  A number of ideas played in my head, but none of them fit.  That can be so very frustrating sometimes, but I love a challenge.  Eventually, this entry is what I came up with.  I hope you like it.  🙂

The Challenge:

On now to our quick and dirty Trifextra prompt.  Plenty of times over the past two and a half years, we’ve given you the beginning of a story and asked for you to complete it.  This time, we are giving you the end, and we are asking you to start it for us.  We want 33 words in addition to and preceding the following: That wasn’t what I meant.

Purposely Mistaken

I, foolishly, hoped to bring us out of our sexual slump,

“We should try something new.”

You agreed, eagerly.

The woman next door was your answer.

I packed your bags, repeating in monotone,

“That wasn’t what I meant.”

About the author

I’m a Goth/Hippie who loves to try new things and dabbles in anything and everything that I find enjoyment in. That can include but is not limited to, cooking, art, digital design, jewellery making, photography, gardening, nature, animals and whatever else strikes my fancy. I’m an optimistic (occasionally) perfectionist (constantly), who can be very sarcastic (incessantly), but all in good humour. :)

Very well done . I agree that it looks like he was just waiting for an excuse. Good title for this one.

Thanks Patricia! I’m glad you think so. 😀 An excuse can usually mean permission for some. Best to tread lightly until you know what the hell is going on, lol.

Ha! Something new indeed. Some conversations need to be carefully considered, no? 🙂

Agreed. It can be easily taken for many things if you don’t watch what you say and be exact about. 🙂

Ha, I’m thinking maybe first he should have gotten a few qualifications on what direction she was going in before throwing that out there.

Yea, that probably would have been best. But you know how guys can be when it comes to asking for directions. 😉

Had me laughing!

I’m glad it did Danny. 🙂

Sometimes it seems like they’re just waiting to jump on the first opportunity. He he.

Yep, and this didn’t have far to leap. 😉

Ha ha, inspiration hit! I like where you took this! Thanks for linking up!

😀 Yep, inspiration can hit us at anytime, anywhere, with an atomic force. I’m glad you liked it! Thanks.

Great job with the prompt!

Thanks Ashley, I’m glad you thinks it’s great. 😀

Oh that stinks. Perhaps she should check in with another neighbor?

Perhaps she should. Maybe that will be the second installment. 😉

The communication gap turned the relationship upside down.
I liked the idea of your highlighted posts which you have liked.

Thanks Kalpana. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

I feel for the chap, seems like a genuine misunderstanding to me.
A great take on the prompt.

Thanks for that. 🙂 Misunderstanding or not, don’t think she’s too keen on the idea. 😉

lol! A punch in the stomach!

    Lol, that’s an option. 😉
