Snack Dip Recipe: Seven Layer Dip
I don’t remember how I first came across a seven layer dip. I know that since that first time I have bought some at stores and made some. I’m still curious as how this was introduced to me. *shrugs* In any case this has got to be one of my favourite dips. Despite the fact that you need a full sized chip to really get all the levels, it is so worth every bite! Trust me, it will be a mouthful. 😉
Seven Layer Dip
(You can make as much or as little as you want, as long as all ingredients have an equal amount, roughly.)
1 cup of Refried Beans
2 Large Avocados
1 cup of Sour Cream
1 cup of diced Tomatoes
1 cup of sliced Kalamata Olives
1 cup of diced Green Onions
1 cup of Shredded Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Cut your avocados long ways, down the middle. Split and remove the seed. With a spoon scoop out the inner flesh into a bowl. With a folk mash the flesh until creamy.
Dice your green onions and tomatoes. Slice your olives (unless you bought them presliced). Shred your cheese (unless you bought it preshredded).
In a 1 ½ quart to 2 quart casserole dish layer ingredients as follows. Be sure to smooth out in flat layers.
First layer, Refried Beans. Second layer, Avocados. Third layer, Sour Cream. Fourth layer, Diced Tomatoes. Fifth layer, Sliced Kalamata Olives. Sixth layer, Diced Green Onion. Seventh and final layer, Extra Sharp Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
Serve cold or at room temperature with corn chips.
