Dessert Recipe: Chocolate Chip Pie
Okay, so I must admit that baking sweets is not my forte, it’s my mum’s. She’s the best at baking pies, cakes, cookies, etc. But I’m learning, albeit, slowly, lol.
This has got to be one of favourites, if not my favourite, pie. It tends to be quite sweet, and a bit rich, so be warned, this is for serious sweet tooths. A pie that’s both full of flavour yet simple to make, which means even I can bake it! 😀
Prep: 15 mins
Cooking: 55 mins
Cooling: 15 mins
Yields: 8 slices
Ingredients:
1 unbaked 9-inch (23cm) deep-dish pie shell
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup Chocolate Chips
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 325° F.
Beat eggs in large mixing bowl until foamy.
Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
Beat in butter.
Stir in chips.
Scoop into pie shell.
BAKE for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and centre comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack.
Serve warm to hot.

Welcome to the blogsphere! This would be the only pie I would touch. I can’t abide cooked fruit. (Yep, not even a fan of jam or jelly.)

Really? I feel the same way, which most people don’t understand. Actually the only fruit pie (if it’s even considered fruit) that I enjoy is Rhubarb pie.
Of course living in Australia and every thinks that my Chocolate Chip Pie is a fruit pie. They seem overly shocked when I tell them that it’s not, honest to god, it’s not, lol.

I’ve had (and didn’t at all care for) Rhubarb wine… I guess (’cause I’m too lazy to look it up and don’t actually care that much) it’s a vegetable. Celery is a veggie, right? Same thing. Stalk of a plant growing in the ground. 🙂
S’talk about stalks?

Good point, though a celery pie doesn’t sound nearly as appealing, lol.
I didn’t realize they made Rhubarb wine. Of course I probably shouldn’t be surprised. Almost anything can be turned into a liquor.
